The fight against cancer is lifelong, and we remain dedicated to carrying on Bill’s spirit, strength, and commitment to doing what’s right.

Bill Goins' Story
Bill Goins was a devoted husband, loving father, and successful businessman. Yet, as accomplished as he was in his career, his true legacy is defined by the person he was: caring, compassionate, humble, inspirational, and legendary.
Born in Anniston, Alabama, Bill grew up with a deep love for sports, especially basketball and baseball. It wasn’t until his 30s that he discovered a lifelong passion for golf, a game that became one of his greatest joys.
After graduating from Weaver High School and attending Jacksonville State University, Bill began a distinguished career in the finance industry, where he worked for more than 40 years. Throughout his career, he built countless lasting friendships and earned the respect and admiration of everyone who knew him.
In early 2022, Bill was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. He received treatment from some of the best doctors in the country and faced his battle with unwavering courage and grace for nearly three years.
Bill Goins was a man of honor, class, and respect. While he would be humbled to know that a foundation now bears his name, such recognition reflects the lasting impact he made on so many lives.
Bill lived by a simple yet powerful philosophy: “Do what is right, do the best you can, and show people you care.” His life embodied those words, and through The Bill Goins Foundation for Cancer Research, his spirit continues to inspire others to do the same.
